Formative Assessment
26 Feb 2015
Teachers constantly assess learning as they ask questions during lessons and when working with groups or individuals. We value this form of formative Assessment for Learning as it impacts directly on planning for a child’s next steps.
We encourage children to take risks and make mistakes in learning. This encourages children to develop resilience and a positive attitude to challenge which we know to be key in developing the attributes needed to be successful.
Feedback and marking of learning outcomes is focussed on the next steps for each child. Children are expected, in an age and stage appropriate way, to respond to feedback and are given designated time to read and think about their teachers’ feedback.
